I can say that I’ve wanted to visit you, too, and more specifically to visit Petra. It just takes my breath away that such a beautiful place could have been hidden so long. But here you are as a visitor:
Also I had have some modern day connections. One of my college professors and his wife started the only library in Jordan (Books and More in Amman), and their son whom I attended college with now runs it (James). So please check this place out when you are in Amman. They are not far from the King Hussein medical center.
So back to Jordan. What a RICH history. So much happened in Jordan in Bible times and so much happens even now. Jordan has some of the oldest Christian communities in the world. Although the hard thing to read is that the Christian faith is only represented by about 3% of the population.
Jordan, you are a beautiful, rugged land of old and new. And just like the Bible, may your people one day become new in Christ. If you are reading this, will you pray that with me right now?
Lord, may it a new for Jordan when the beautiful people are made new in Christ.
Blessings to your Jordan. I hope to see you in person sometime. And meet those made new in Christ.
