Some say that the grace of God is too easy.  Just get forgiven, then go on sinning.  You don’t have to change.

But this is not the teaching of Scripture.

Jesus says clearly,

“If you love me, you will obey what I command” (v. 15″)

“He who does not love me will not obey my teaching” (v. 24)

It’s like someone who gets married.  If you love them, you will stay faithful and honor them.  Yes, love comes with blessings and boundaries.

Those who are not faithful in their marriages and invest in their spouses are not showing love.

Same here.

When we commit to love someone, it comes with parameters.  And in Christ, that parameter is obedience.

You could even say, obedience is God’s love language.
