Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.  The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.  Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.  But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

It is time.  It is time for you to go right with the Lord.  To leave your life of sin and your justifying your sin.  The time is short.

Salvation is nearer now than yesterday.  And is nearer now than when these words were written.

Soon, all that is hidden will be revealed.  The deeds of darkness will come to the light.  The day is almost here.

Put off the deeds of darkness.  You know in your heart what is sin.  You know.  You might not like it, but you know.

Put trashy things in the trash.  Otherwise you will be a hoarder–of trash.  Stop living this way.

Rather, clothe yourself with light.  It is your armour.  Righteousness is a fierce armour that will protect you.

So leave the sexual sin and the sin of immaturity in your relationships.  Stop your indulgence in sensuality.  It just awakens persistent, unrelenting desires that can only be temporarily fulfilled.

Instead, put your thoughts, your actions and heart into the Lord Jesus Christ.  Stop living to please your fleshly desire.  Live to please Him.  And receive the joy of doing so.
