⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

It struck me today that not only does he forgive our sins, but he also washes, cleanses and purifies us from them.  It’s not just forgiveness.  But also a washing from that stain of sin.
