“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days” (2 Tim 3:1).
I’ve been thinking of this a lot lately. Naturally because we’re witnessing an unraveling. And I truly believe we haven’t seen anything yet. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
Here’s what that darkness looks like.
“People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God” (2 Tim 3:2-5).
It sounds like an awful list until it gets even worse.
“having a form of godliness but denying its power…” (2 Tim 3:5)
This Scripture is talking about the people of God. The church people. Professing believers. Those who have a form of godliness but deny its power.
That. Is. Sobering.
And not because of what is seen in others, but rather because of what is seen in ourselves.
Oh, Lord…
