Did you know that 9/11 was a giant plot (supposedly)?  That coronavirus eruption was planned (really?)?  That no one actually landed on the moon (Pft)?  Dear Christians, enough with such conspiracy theories.

Are some conspiracy theories in the world be true?  Possibly.  But what does it matter?  Read the Scripture again:

“Do not call conspiracy
    everything this people calls a conspiracy;
do not fear what they fear,
    and do not dread it.”

Isaiah 8:12

What is the benefit of believing theories?  Nothing.  They are a waste of time.  Even if they could be true.  How do I know they are a waste of time?  The Scripture and the fruit.

The fruit is first of all, fruitless discussions.  The awe of evil (see prior post).  And the suspicion of all men and women in any form of power.

Secondly the fruit is the Scripture.  The Word says our battle is not against flesh and blood (Eph 6:12).  If we dive into the world of conspiracy theories, we miss the battle.  It’s like being the team that makes it to the superbowl but then shows up on the field where baseball is played.  Huh?

Furthermore if we see the battle as the conspiracies of men, we will fight back from that perspective.  Yet Scripture says we do not wage war as the world does (2 Cor 10:3-5).  We fight through gospel proclamation, prayer, love, etc…

Now if you are a police officer or an authority on this earth and it is your job to find wrong-doing and prosecute, Ok.  That’s understandable.

But if you are a common citizen and a Christian, don’t go there.  It’s fruitless.  It misses the mark.  Read Isaiah 8:1 again.  It’s in black and white.
