To Know Jesus and Make Him Known

Eliphaz Continues – Job 5

Eliphaz tells Job all of this calamity has happened to him because he has sin in his life (Job 4:8).  But now he suggests Job repent.

“…if I were you, I would appeal to God and would present my case to Him.  He does great and unsearchable things” (Job 5:8-9).

See how happy the man is God corrects; so do not reject the discipline of the Almighty” (Job 5:17).

Eliphaz is telling Job that if he just repents, God will restore him.  That the great loss was great judgment and God is just trying to get Job to repent.  That’s the only thing it could be.

But if he just repents, says Eliphaz, then everything will be restored.
