I found this article today and while a bit longer, it summarizes for me why “not-mormonism.” At the same time, I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for a Mormon to come to realize what they’ve been taught their whole lives. Absolutely devastating.
I think it’s important in the Christian world that we teach others the truth, and not just the truth, but how to share the gospel with Mormons. Truth in Love Ministries does a great job of that (www.tilm.org).

This isn’t to be used as a weapon against your Mormon friends/co-workers or the missionary that comes to your door. It’s so you yourself know and understand. The most important thing you and I can do when they come to our door is let them “bear their testimony.” Then to share with them the gospel according to the Bible. Because it’s completely different from what the Mormon gospel teaches.
Be kind to the Mormon missionaries. They are hungry, tired, emotionally exhausted from rejection, tired from trying to get the numbers of discussions and baptisms their leaders pressure them to get, and more. While I can’t help with baptisms I’m happy to hear their discussions as long as they are willing to listen to the Christian discussions.
Be friends with these beautiful people. Just know what the Bible says, and know what their gospel says. Truth triumphs over the burning in the bosom.
But there it is. It’s a better summation than mine as to why I believe it is clear that Joseph Smith isn’t who he says he says. Granted I think the CES Letter is the grand-daddy document of them all from church sources, but this one does a good job as well, just from a slightly different angle. Click and take a look:
