“’Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy.” Ezek 16:49
If you’ve ever read the story of Lot and Sodom and Gomorrah, it’s a story sick with sin. The town Lot lived in was becoming so evil. When he had foreign guests, the people of the town banged on the door to gang rape his guests regardless of gender (Gen 13, 19). It’s a sick story in every ugly way.
And yet their sin?
Arrogance. Overfed. Unconcerned (apathathetic) toward the needy.
Whew. That’s a sin that resonates.
