Mockery always precedes a murderous spirit.
I can assure you any school shooter was mocked before ever considering a violent act. Any foster kid on death row (80% of death row are former foster kids) has been mocked. Any person who does a violent act more than likely has been mocked.
People who are mocked already to defend themselves with their voice, and their voice was shut down. The hurt and inability to protect themselves with words leads them to defending themselves and attacking their fears with violence.
The people of God should rarely if ever use mockery as a form of communication. At times it has been used even in Scripture (Elijah and the Prophets of Baal). But it was a rare event. Let’s keep it that way.
