To Know Jesus and Make Him Known

Praise is Rightfully Yours – Ps 65

Have you ever watched as someone received praise and honor for something they did not do?  Or they claimed that their actions were meritorious when actually what they was reprehensible?  Happens all the time.  It’s something we ourselves often do claiming things we did when actually there was probably a lot of ‘God through us’ kind of scenarios.

But when it comes to God most high, indeed, “praise is rightfully” His.

  • He is the “One who hears prayer” (Ps 65:2)
  • Only You can atone for our rebellions” (Ps 65:3)
  • You answer us in righteousness” (Ps 65:5)

And the list goes on.

Because of that “east and west shout for joy” (Ps 65:8).  “The wilderness pastures overflow and the hills are robed with joy”  (Ps 65:12).  “Indeed, they sing” (Ps 65:13).

Because of the goodness of the Lord, there is great joy.  And great contentment.

We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house” (Ps 65:4).

There is joy when we remember who He is and what he has done.

I was thinking this morning that a lot of people right now that are being asked to make difficult decisions of their conscience that cost greatly.  And those who know the Lord are more able to make those kinds of decisions, mainly because we know the faithfulness of the Lord in our lives.

It’s that faithfulness that causes us to sing and rejoice, and to have that place of peace and contentment.

It’s not our circumstances that bring this about  But it’s His faithfulness.
