Job definitely has some zingers here:
“I am not inferior to you…but you coat the truth with lies; you are all worthless doctors. If only you would shut up and let that be your wisdom!” (Job 13:2-5).
He then continues his courtroom imagery.
“I prefer to speak to the Almighty and argue my case before God.” (Job 13:3).
“Would you testify unjustly on God’s behalf or speak deceitfully for Him? Would you show partiality to Him or argue the case in His defense? Would it go well if He examined you?” (Job 13:7-9).
“Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ash; your defenses are made of clay” (Job 13:12).
“Even if he kills me, I will hope in Him. I will still defend my ways before Him” (Job 13:15).
He then goes back to his usual of voicing his suffering to God.
“Why do You hide Your face and consider me Your enemy? Will you frighten a wind-driven leaf? Will you chase after dry straw? For You record bitter accusations against me and make me inherit the iniquities of my youth” (Job 13:24-26).
He confronts his friend. He confesses his loyalty to God and maintains his integrity. And he continues to be honest with his suffering.
Job isn’t there yet. He still doesn’t understand the ways of God or the nature of his own life. But he takes his stand.
