The Man Mordecai – Esther 10

Mordecai, Esther’s uncle continued to grow in power.  King Ahaseurus made him second in command.  He was famous among the Jewish people because he never stopped laboring on their behalf.

He continued to seek good for his people and to speak for the welfare of all his descendants” (Esther 10:3).

He was a simple man who when his brother died, took in his niece to raise her.  When she was taken to the king, he continued to instruct her.  And when it was time to release her to the Lord, he did even that.  God raised him up and he became a powerful man.

He set things in motion not just for his time, but for the generations to come.  Celebrations have a way of doing that.

It makes me wonder why this book was called Esther.  I’m sure it easily could also have been called Mordecai.
