To Know Jesus and Make Him Known

The Works of His Hands are Truth and Justice – Ps 111

I don’t know about you but in these days and times I have a deeper appreciation for truth and justice, mainly because it seems more and more we are living in a world without rule of law.  It’s about party these days and not about truth.  Any “bombshell” reports falls flat even if it’s true, because if it’s not of the right party, it’s not believed by that political party.

Thankfully the works of the hands of the Lord are truth and justice.  He does not change and shift with the times like man.  Truth and justice are the rock of reality whether mankind endorses them or beats and bloodies their head against truth.

This truly is something to praise God for.  His ways are secure and He is righteousness.

His righteousness endures forever” (Ps 111:3).

He also says this:

He has shown His people the power of His works by giving them the inheritance of the nations” (Ps 111:6).

What does it mean he has given them the inheritance of the nations?  It seems that this is that they were given the land of Canaan, a land that they did not cultivate or till but that was prepare for them for 400 years by others nations.   It was a covenant gift not because of their great righteouesness, but because of His faithful love towards them.

He is good.  He is righteous.  He gives good things.  And His ways are good.  And those who follow Him are blessed.

The fear of the lORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His instructions have good insight.  His praise endures forever” (Ps 111:10).
