We can do anything and everything in this world and unless the LORD watches over us, it is in vain. It can crumble in a minute, especially if you are Israel and hated by the world. But with the LORD, there are miracles. It is the blessing of the LORD that he sustains any of us.
So too are families. Especially children. They are a blessing of the LORD. There is great blessing to those who have a “quiver” full of children. This is so contrary to much of the Western world where children are a burden and inconvenience and less is more. But in Israel culture, children are a blessing. The more the merrier. Which is why even today you will see families of Jewish people with large families.
These are the blessings of the Lord. That he watches over our cities. He watches over our work. He watches over our families. These are the most sacred parts of life we long for him to watch over.
