“As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

I love this story. I think Jesus knew she would come. I think he was looking for a way to honor her. It was probably the darkest moment in her life. But she threw herself on the Lord with the utmost of humility and desparation. And while she probably didn’t even realize it, heaven saw. And now two thousand years and millions of others still see. And both continue to marvel.
