“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight”
When I was in Bible college most of us were impressed by those who demonstrated profound “knowledge and depth of insight.” This is only natural in an academic institution. Those with the most profound insight were the ones that were upheld. But the Bible says this, “that your LOVE may abound in knowledge and depth of insight…” Great lovers should be some of our main heroes. These are those the ones at the feet of the homeless, in the arms of the dying, and in the stench of human suffering. Faith filled lovers.
Love requires a lot of knowledge and depth of insight. Just ask any married person, any parent, any caregiver of older parents, or….pretty much anyone in a relationship.
The truth is…love is something that needs to be learned. It is something that needs continuous nurturing, growth and maturity.
