“How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you…”

My mom today just bought 16 more tomato plants in addition to the 6 I had already planted for her.  That’s 24 plants.  That’s not tomatoes.  Can you imagine how many tomatoes that will yield?  We also have fruit trees galore and many other plants.  We are looking to a big season of “storing up” in the not so distant future.

What we store up is life-giving and it is good.  If you’ve never had homemade apricot jelly straight from the tree then you’ve missed out on some extraordinary goodness.  Mmmmm.

The Lord stores up too.  He stores up goodness.  But it’s not for himself.  It’s for you.  And he gives this goodness to those who fear him, on those who take refuge in him.

“How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you,
which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you.”

The Lord is waiting to bestow on us good things.  His fortress is filled and waiting for us to take refuge in him.  To fear him greater than all fears around us.  His blessings never end.
