Just a few weeks on vacation attending a mega church in the town we were in. They were promoting their big Christmas celebration–Santa, elves, reindoor and more. This is a church of about 10,000. And it grieved my heart.
How about celebrating radically? Telling the story of the birth of Christ and of Jesus? Magi, King Herod, and so much more. Christmas is a great time to share the message of this salvation. People are searching for spiritual truth. Hope. Deliverance. An assurance away from death. And we give them Santa?
