I’m amazed at the strength found in the women of Luke.  We open with Elizabeth who was the shame of the village for her barrenness yet did not waver in her love and devotion to the Lord.

Then we get to Mary who believed that what the Lord  said to her would be accomplished, even as she entered into the shame of being an unwed mother and a life of promised heartache.

Then we have Anna who lost her husband young.  She didn’t roll over on life but became a prophetess and prayed and fasted night and day for over a half century.

Life doesn’t always turn out the way you desire or hope for.  Singleness is not often chosen.  Nor is barrenness.  Or a strained marriage.  Or difficult children.  Or dreams unfulfilled.  But these women show us to always trust because His goodness will carry us.
