It still baffles my mind thinking on adoption, because it means that we get the same rights, privileges as Jesus does in His relationship with the Father.  It sounds scandalous.  And yes, God the Father will set Jesus at his right hand, every knee will bow to him and declare Him Lord and not us.  That is how God honors Jesus for his work on the cross.

But in terms of Father-child relationship, as adopted ones we share the same rights and inheritance and love as Jesus.  How great the love of the Father that we should be called children of God (1 Jn 3:1)
