To Know Jesus and Make Him Known

Matthew 21:28-46: Parable of the Two Sons and a Vineyard
storytelling jesus

How do you make a point to someone who won’t hear the direct truth?  Tell them a parable.  Put the truth in perspective.  That’s what has been done throughout the Scripture.  Remember David, Bathsheba and the sheep story (2 Sam 12)?  Ditto here.  Jesus was a master at telling a story, garnering the appropriate response from his hearers, and then letting his hearers know it was them that he was talking about.  Jesus did not attack his hearers here directly, but by the use of parables they condemned themselves.  Gotta love Jesus.
