Sometimes I pray for the people of the jungle, so far from the rest of humanity. It flashed through my mind yesterday that sometimes it would be nice to be so far away from the problems the rest of the world seems to be facing.
And then it struck me. That’s not a true thought. They may have no idea or conception of any other world than their jungle world. But they too are affected. Just like us. How?
If we think of the world only in physical terms, then yes, they are unaffected. They have their own issues among themselves that are common to all humanity.
But if we recognize and remember that this battle is spiritual, then it all comes into perspective. And they are not immune. The same spirit that is being released on the world now will be affecting the jungle peoples also, just in their own way.
The world we live in is a spiritual world as much as it is a physical world. And right now, there’s a lot of bad stuff unfolding. No civilization is going to be immune just as much as civilizations will be affected when God pours out his spirit.
It’s good to remember that our battle is in the spirit and not of flesh and blood. Because the truth is we do see things as flesh and blood and politics and such and it is ripping people apart. Relationships are being destroyed and we can blame the media, politics, other nations, etc… and while there is some truth to that, the real truth is that our battle is not in this world. And that should affect then how we fight this battle.
The world is at a crossroads and those from the White House to the Tree House in the jungle are being affected. And yet for me, and I don’t know if it’s the case for you, but it’s a hard season to pray. And yet it’s never needed more.
