My Eyes see the Cross Better today – 1 John 4:10

¹⁰ This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins 1 John 4:10

The other day I watched a video and I felt heart. Sometimes life is tough and we don’t always feel the love, joy and peace of God. But you know what? It’s ok. This life is not our home. It can have many really hard and difficult things. Some just that do not ever seem to end.

But it somehow was revealed to me more clearly. It’s the importance of the centrality of the cross. The cross is the place of love. The cross is the place of peace. And in a strange way, it’s also the place of joy as we receive a gift that cost life. And somehow when I focus more on Christ, somehow I start ironically feeling more joyful.

It truly is about the cross of Christ. That’s where it all centers upon. It’s where God’s love, his justice and his forgiveness all converge in what glorious harmony. That’s the message we preach. And it’s the message we live by.
