To Know Jesus and Make Him Known

Specific Prophecy – Is 16

YouTube prophets have taken the world by storm the last couple of years and it’s not hard to understand why.  Everything is so unstable and people want to feel like they have some direct guidance from the Lord.  I have a lot to say about such prophets as I feel like a lying spirit has been sent among them.  But Isaiah wasn’t a YouTube prophet.

Moab who was powerful, prosperous and a thorn in the side for Israel when they first entered the land of Canaan were a very proud people.  That’s common among nations that become world leaders.  They become prideful and that pride becomes their downfall.

Isaiah prophesied that even the great Moab would fall, that their people would flee to Israel, and that the masses would mourn their rising and wine they produced.

Not only that but he gave them a very specific time frame:  3 years.  And not just any 3 years but 3 years as a laborer looks at the clock.  A laborer looks at the clock anxiously waiting for the time to pass.

All these judgments one right after the other sound so harsh and difficult.  But imagine Isaiah coming in 2019 and prophesying against France, the US, Australia and Canada.  It would have been hard to believe and people would have paid no attention to it.  But now if Isaiah had come in 2019 and prophesied, the people of 2022 would be looking into the prophecy to see what next was coming in judgment.  It would matter a whole lot.

Many a nation thinks it’s more powerful than it is.  But as we know even today so many nations that we think are “world leaders” are actually paper tigers.  They really don’t have the power that they project.

Every nation can fall and fall rapidly.  And when it does, the people are greatly affected.  And it is a source of terrible grief for not only its citizens but those who have been blessed by its bounty.

We are at the start of seeing Western Civilization collapse.  Just like the Great Depression in the US took 3 years, we too are seeing the same thing but on a global level.  Power is shifting and we haven’t even begun yet.

Is this the judgment of God?  I do think he has to do something.  Look at the moral depravity that has become mainstream.  It’s sickening and  it’s even harder to understand how even some in the body of Christ supports this.  If God doesn’t do something, would he be good?  Every good parent intervenes when their child crosses a line and goes too far.

I can’t say for sure this is God’s judgment.  But I do know 100% certain we need repentance in the land and a crying out for mercy from God.  But perhaps that won’t come until it gets really, really, really bad.  Oh how the mighty fall.

What We Learn in Isaiah

I'm just going to be honest here. Most people who blog through the Bible get stuck in the Psalms. But I kept pushing...
