If you are Israel and you read this psalm, you may stand a little taller and stronger. You are in covenant with God and he literally moved sea and river and figuratively mountains for you. It was the Exodus out of Egypt and becoming planted in Canaan.
If you are not Israel, the message is clear—tremble.
God parted waters and rivers for the purpose of His people. He brought water out of rock. Miracle after mighty miracle.
God’s power is not something to mess with. Nor are the people of His choosing, the apple of His eye.
If there is one thing we need during this tumultuous times, it is remember to tremble before God. He is a God of great power.
