The Quran does not tell us much about Islam’s prophet, but the hadith (the Islamic writings), with an authority almost as equal to the Quran, gives the world his sayings and teachings. In looking at them compared to the Bible, what are your thoughts on these? Just remember that the Bible was written prior to the 1st century and the Islamic writings 7th century and beyond.
NOTE: Everyone has a God-given right to choose their belief systems without hate, harassment and with full free-will. Let’s honor one another with respect and kindness in this but let’s also look at what we believe and why we believe. Even as the Quran says, “Let there be no compulsion in religion (al-Baqarah 2:256).

1) Sins White – Isaiah 1:18
The Bible:
“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool” (Is 1:18).
The Hadith:
“O Allah! Wash away my sins with the water of snow and hail, and cleanse my heart from all the sins as a white garment is cleansed from the filth” (Sahih al-Bukhari 6368).
2) East and West – Ps 103:12
The Bible:
“as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us” (Ps 103:12)
The Hadith:
“let there be a long distance between me and my sins, as You made East and West far from each other” (Sahih al-Bukhari 6368).
3) No Eye Has Seen – 1 Cor 2:9
The Bible:
But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him”—
(1 Corinthians 2:9 – By the Apostle Paul quoting Is 64:4)
The Hadith:
Narrated Abu Hurairah:
that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Allah Most High said:
‘I have prepared for My righteous worshipers
what no eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
and no human heart has conceived.'”
(Sahih Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3197; Sahih al-Bukhari 4780
4) The Lord’s Prayer – Mt 6:5-15
Jesus speaking says:
“This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’
(Mt 6:5-15)
The Hadith:
I heard the Apostle of Allah say:
If any of you is suffering from anything or his brother is suffering, he should say:
Our Lord is Allah Who is in the heaven,
holy is Thy name,
Thy command reigns supreme
in the heaven and the earth,
as Thy mercy in the heaven,
make Thy mercy in the earth;
forgive us our sins, and our errors
5) The Stopping of the Sun – Josh 10:12-13
The Bible:
12 At that time Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel,
“Sun, stand still at Gibeon,
and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”
13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped,
until the nation took vengeance on their enemies.
(Josh 10:12-13)
The Hadith:
“So, the prophet carried out the expedition and when he reached that town at the time or nearly at the time of the `Asr prayer, he said to the sun, ‘O sun! You are under Allah’s Order and I am under Allah’s Order O Allah! Stop it (i.e. the sun) from setting.’ It was stopped till Allah made him victorious” (Sahih al-Bukhari 3124).
6) Whatever You Do for the Least of These – Mt 25:42-45
Jesus speaking in the Bible:
42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ (Mt 25:42-45 – Authored by Matthew).
The Hadith:
O son of Adam, I asked you for food and you fed Me not. He will say: O Lord, and how should I feed You when You are the Lord of the worlds? He will say: Did you not know that My servant So-and-so asked you for food and you fed him not? Did you not know that had you fed him you would surely have found that (the reward for doing so) with Me? (Qudsi 40:18)
7) Working for One Wage – Mt 20:1-16 / Sahih al-Bukhari 2269)
The Bible:
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. 2 After agreeing with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And going out about the third hour he saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 and to them he said, ‘You go into the vineyard too, and whatever is right I will give you.’ 5 So they went. Going out again about the sixth hour and the ninth hour, he did the same. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing. And he said to them, ‘Why do you stand here idle all day?’ 7 They said to him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You go into the vineyard too.’
8 And when evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last, up to the first.’ 9 And when those hired about the eleventh hour came, each of them received a denarius.
10 Now when those hired first came, they thought they would receive more, but each of them also received a denarius. 11 And on receiving it they grumbled at the master of the house, 12 saying, ‘These last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.’
13 But he replied to one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? 14 Take what belongs to you and go. I choose to give to this last worker as I give to you. 15 Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?’ 16 So the last will be first, and the first last.” (Mt 20:1-16)
The Hadith:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Your example and the example of Jews and Christians is like the example of a man who employed some laborers to whom he said, ‘Who will work for me up to midday for one Qirat each?’ The Jews carried out the work for one Qirat each; and then the Christians carried out the work up to the Asr prayer for one Qirat each; and now you Muslims are working from theAsr prayer up to sunset for two Qirats each. The Jews and Christians got angry and said, ‘We work more and are paid less.’ The employer (Allah) asked them, ‘Have I usurped some of your right?’ They replied in the negative. He said, ‘That is My Blessing, I bestow upon whomever I wish.’ (Sahih al-Bukhari 2269)
8) Zechariah’s Questions the Angel – Luke 1:18/Quran 19:8
The Bible:
Zechariah asked the angel, “How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years” (Luke 1:18).
The Quran:
He wondered, “My Lord! How can I have a son when my wife is barren, and I have become extremely old?” (Quran 19:8).
9) The Virgin Birth Question by Mary – Luke 1:34 / Quran 19:20
The Bible:
“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” (Luke 1:34).
The Quran:
She wondered, “How can I have a son when no man has ever touched me, nor am I unchaste?” (Quran 19:20).
10) Solomon’s Wisdom with Two Mothers – 1 Kings 3:16-28 ; Sunan an-Nasai 5404
The Bible:
16 Then two prostitutes came to the king and stood before him. 17 The one woman said, “Oh, my lord, this woman and I live in the same house, and I gave birth to a child while she was in the house. 18 Then on the third day after I gave birth, this woman also gave birth. And we were alone. There was no one else with us in the house; only we two were in the house. 19 And this woman’s son died in the night, because she lay on him. 20 And she arose at midnight and took my son from beside me, while your servant slept, and laid him at her breast, and laid her dead son at my breast. 21 When I rose in the morning to nurse my child, behold, he was dead. But
when I looked at him closely in the morning, behold, he was not the child that I had borne.” 22 But the other woman said, “No, the living child is mine, and the dead child is yours.” The first said, “No, the dead child is yours, and the living child is mine.” Thus they spoke before the king.
23 Then the king said, “The one says, ‘This is my son that is alive, and your son is dead’; and the other says, ‘No; but your son is dead, and my son is the living one.’” 24 And the king said, “Bring me a sword.” So a sword was brought before the king. 25 And the king said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one and half to the other.” 26 Then the woman whose son was alive said to the king, because her heart yearned for her son, “Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and by no means put him to death.” But the other said, “He shall be neither mine nor yours; divide him.” 27 Then the king answered and said, “Give the living child to the first woman, and by no means put him to death; she is his mother.” 28 And all Israel heard of the judgment that the king had rendered, and they stood in awe of the king, because they perceived that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice (1 Kings 13:16-28)
The Hadith:
The Prophet [SAW] said: “Two women went out with their two children, and the wolf took one of the children from them. They referred their dispute to Prophet Dawud, peace be upon him, and he ruled that (the remaining child) belonged to the older woman. Then they passed by Sulaiman, peace be upon him, and he said: ‘How did he judge between you?’ She said: ‘He ruled that (the child) belongs to the older woman.’ Sulaiman said: ‘Cut him in half, and give half to one and half to the other.’ The older woman said: ‘Yes, cut him in half.’ The younger woman said: ‘Do not cut him, he is her child.’ So he ruled that the child belonged to the woman who refused to let him be cut.” (Sunan an-Nasa’i 5404).
