To Know Jesus and Make Him Known

A Good Psalm to Memorize – Ps 100

This psalm has so much good stuff that it’s hard to even write about it.  Only 5 verses long, it is well worth our time memorizing.   Here are some takeaways:

1) Shout to the Lord!

Actually, do it right now if you are in a reasonable place to do so.  There’s something that moves in our spirit when we shout to the Lord, even in the privacy of our homes.  🙂

2) Serve the LORD with gladness.

Am I serving the Lord with gladness or with other attitudes of the heart?

3) Acknowledge that Yahweh is God

Isn’t this the most foundational thing?  In fact, if we truly understood this then our world would be so different.

4)  He made us, we are His, the sheep of His pasture

That’s just good right there.  We belong.  And He is our caretaker.

5) Yahweh is good, and His love is eternal

He is good.  We need to lodge that deep in our hearts.  At least I do.  When I don’t get what I long for, or things don’t go my way, I want to accuse him of not being good.

And that His love is eternal?  That’s something to hold onto.  His love doesn’t wear our or He doesn’t become bored with us and move on.  His love is eternal.

6) His faithfulness endures through all generations

His faithfulness is for every generation, not just the generations where there were great moves of God.  He was faithful in past generations, He will be faithful in our generation, He will be faithful in the generation to come.
