The favor of God was upon David and he couldn’t lose. David defeated the Philistines, then the Moabites, the Arameans, the Edomites and more. Every enemy that came against David were not only defeated but made subjects and vassal states of Israel. God was with him.
But what is special about David is how he ruled. It says this of him:
“So David reigned over all Israel, administering justice and righteousness for all his people” (1 Chr 18:14).
Isn’t this the desire of the heart for all those in the history of the world? That leaders would rule with justice and righteousness for all people? That they would serve the people and not themselves?
Perhaps this verse should be a prayer as we each pray for our nation’s leaders.
