Family in the Blood of Jesus – Matthew 3

As you may have read my mother passed away recently.  It’s not just that but it means a big life change in so many ways.  I needed to move immediately.  And right now I am in a state of transition.  The next few months are ones of transition that is likely to span multiple states and countries as I get back into the work of God.

As I’m pondering these things, I really needed a Word of God for encouragement.  He spoke to me of this:

And his mother and his brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him. 32 And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you.” 33 And he answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” 34 And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.”

Your earthly family may be great.  Or it may be awful.  Or you may not have have any family.  But God gives us family.  And that family is blood family–the blood of Jesus.

He has never left us alone.

We have millions in our family all over the world.

I will meet many of them again soon.
