body as instrument of righteousness - Romans 6

How We Use our Body – Romans 6:13

“Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.”
Romans 6:13 (ESV)

Each part of our body can be used for righteousness or unrighteousness.  While under sin, we used our bodies for our sinful pleasures.  But now God asks us to use our body for righteousness.  So let’s think through this:

Feet – Where do my feet take me?  When I’m tempted, do my feet take me to the place of that temptation?  Or do they take me places to serve others?

Hands – What do they touch?  What do they put in my mouth to eat?  Do I use them for harm?  Or for work?  For service?  What do they do?

Mouth – What do I say?  Not say?  Eat?  Or not eat?  How do I use my lips?

Eyes – What do I see?  What do I turn from?  How do I see others?  How do I see myself?

Ears – What do I listen to?  What do I turn away from listening to?

Personal Parts – You fill in this part.

It’s not what we just do physically either.  What do our imaginations dream our hands doing?  Good?  Not so good?  Where to your imaginations take you?
