When someone is sent out in ministry, it takes a team.  This was no less true with Jesus.  He didn’t go out alone.  He was provided for by his team.

1) Jesus and his Team had Financial Backing

Luke 8:1–3: “Mary Magdalene… Joanna… Susanna, and many others, who provided for them out of their means.”

2) Jesus and his Team had Hosts for Housing

• Martha, Mary, and Lazarus in Bethany (John 12:1–2)

• Simon the Leper, Zacchaeus, and others hosted Jesus.

• Hospitality made long-term itinerant ministry sustainable.

3) Jesus and his Team had Those who Provided Practically

• Nicodemus (John 3, John 7:50, John 19:39) who helped prepare his body

• Joseph of Arimathea, who gave his tomb (Luke 23:50–53)

4) Jesus had those Fasting and Praying and welcoming his coming

There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, ³⁷ and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. ³⁸ Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem (Luke 2:36-38).

When it comes to missions, new church plants, ministries and more, it takes a group.  Not everyone can do all things, but everyone can do something.
