Bondi Beach Massacre

More on Bondi – A Christian Response

It is just sickening and if you are like me, you cannot stop thinking about this.  There are so many things that go through the mind.

First, is it any surprise this happened?  The Islamic Scriptures are clear:

“Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him” (Sahih Muslim 2922)

Muslims, why do you think you should serve a God who hates and kills like this?  Please, wake up!  This is not of God.  Compare this to the teachings of Jesus.

You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’  But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.  If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?  And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?  Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Matthew 5:43-48).

Muslims, where is the mercy you talk about?  It isn’t there.  It’s just death.  Death to Jews, Turks, apostates, unbelievers and more.  Where does it end?  I plead with you, look into your faith and ask yourself if what you’ve been taught reflects a good God.  The God you see in nature who is beautiful, intelligent, kind, loving, and also just.

This situation makes me also think of muslims that I care about.  Many are such good people, even if their ideology is not.  They don’t know a better life.  And right now, many are scared.

Please, Christians.  It is not the response of the individual to threaten, harass, or go after muslims.  This is not the way of the kingdom.  It is the responsibility of the government to deal with things punitively.  It is to them to stop sharia law, to enforce justice when crimes have been committed, to deal with immigration, and to protect the people.  If government isn’t doing their job, then you can protest to them and appeal to them.

But on an individual basis, we have a clear command:  “Do not repay evil for evil” (Rom 12:7).  If we respond with hostilities, then nothing changes.  We are the same.

Let these events move us to intercession, evangelism, and more.

YES, we can both love the muslim and hate the Islamic ideology that is so obviously false.  As Christians, have compassion on those who have not been able to explore their faith except at risk of their life.  Let’s be the ones to show them the love and life of the gospel.

Do not speak about muslims like they are animals.  They are not.  They are friends.  They are people created in God’s image.  They are loved.  I know many of them.  I care for them.  Many of them have cared for and protected me when I needed it.

Let’s walk as Jesus walked.  Loving with truth, speaking the truth with love.  Their not mutually exclusive.  They are inseparable.
