To Know Jesus and Make Him Known

Rejoice in HIS Righteousness – Ps 97

Because of censorship, I can’t fully comment on this post.  But it’s right there, hate evil.  We do hate evil, or that which we ourselves declare as evil.  But the evil that God declares as evil?  Some of it we just accept as “different.”  It’s been normalized now.  More and more of it is being normalized.  Good has become wicked and wicked has become good.

Certainly there are those who have done stupid things in those situations where “different” has been accepted.  And those stupid things have been held up as the example that anyone who believes evil is evil does these stupid things. Not true in any stretch.

But enough there.  This psalm is about the goodness of God.  And that we should rejoice and celebrate extravagantly.  Why?  Because he rules in righteousness.  His judgments are right and good.

As things get crazier and crazier, these attributes of God are much more appreciated.  When what is evil is punished and what is righteous is honored among the people, there is joy and peace.  Righteousness and holiness and good judgments seem less and less, at least on this earth, but God still reigns.  He is still on his throne.  When we come into the fullness of eternal life there will be righteous judgment.  It’s something we can all rejoice about.

“Be glad in Yahweh, you righteous ones, and praise His holy name” (Ps 97:12).

Glad to be counted among the righteous not become of me, but because of Jesus.  Time to go to the house of the Lord and rejoice.
