A number of years ago I was speaking in church when a woman was knitting.  It was annoying so I went over there, grabbed a string and unraveled her work, then used scissors to cut everything up.  The people in church were horrified as I went back to speaking.  Until I made a point.  Just because something is an unfinished work doesn’t mean it doesn’t have value.  And worse, people are more angry that I cut her work up then that children get poisoned and stabbed in the womb.

Today I am stunned when I see influential Christian leaders support abortion (Jen Hatmaker).   Of course, she is the same one who supports homosexual marriage which I wonder if she has read the Bible, as in Rom 1.  How can such evil be in the place of Christian leaders?  And what causes my blood to boil is the sheer number of believers that are supporting her.  Have you not read the Scriptures?!

When I was going through Samuel, Kings and Chronicles for this very website, there are two things I saw that brought about God’s anger more than any other things–1) The harming of innocent children and 2) Sexual immorality.  In fact, most of the gods of the day that were worshiped were all about either child sacrifice or sexual liberties.  If you look at the issues that are in culture today, 80% swirl around one of these two issues.

We are in a place in history where culture in the church is having greater authority than Scripture.  And that is a terrible, terrible place to be in.  When God’s people have their compass pointed to themselves instead of the True North of God, a whole generation quickly can become lost.

It’s not that it’s unprecedented.  As I’m just starting into Isaiah, it too was a generation that was lost.  It too was practicing sexual immorality and sacrificing their sons and daughters to the gods.  Because of it the Lord warned of judgment.

In fact he gave Israel extraordinary amounts of time to repent but they did not.  If anything, the years of warning hardened the hearts of the people.  Until God said enough.  Israel ended up being deported to Assyria and their location to this day has been lost to history.  And southern Judah was deported to Babylon and after a couple of generation, they came back to re-establish Israel.  It was terrible times.

Make no mistake.  God is for life.   It is his handiwork in the womb.

The mantra of “My body, my choice” is actually correct.  The baby in a mother’s womb is a separate body with a separate DNA.  The baby is a different person entirely.  And that baby is dependent on the mama, not just in the womb, but also outside the womb.  It’s actually dependent on others for a dozen or more years after birth.

Did you know that New York and California both have bills on the docket for abortive measures up to 28 days AFTER a child is born?  How is this not utterly evil?  This is infanticide!  Have we become so hardened by culture we can’t even see the most basics of life?

And how does one shout “women’s rights” when our own Supreme Court Justice can’t even define what “a woman” is?  Have we come so far?

Yes.  Yes, we have.

And this is expected in the world.  But among God’s own people?  Unbelievable.  Utterly unbelievable.  Have nothing to do with this or follow those who teach/preach this evil.

Instead, read the Bible.  Get to know His Word greater than any celebrity Christian or innflencer-in-all-the-wrong-ways.  Don’t lose your way in the darkness.  During Jesus’ day his harshest words (Mt 23) were for the religious leaders who were not living a Godly life.   Don’t be deceived.

And here’s the kicker.  Every time you call sin a sin, people are quick to rush and say, “but we need to love.”  Of course.  But it’s as if in the name of love truth has been kicked to the way side.  Jesus never compromised truth in the name of love.  He wasn’t some sweet, push-over guy that was murdered for being nice.  He was murdered for standing on the truth.  People don’t murder nice guys.  They murder truth-tellers.  He was loving to the broken, for sure.  But even in this, he didn’t compromise truth.  Not once.

So stop with “we need to be loving” every time someone calls a sin as such.  Love is how we handle that truth, but we first must have truth.  It’s not that we use truth as a weapon, but we are uncompromising with it.  And loving in how we handle it.

Make no mistake.  Abortion is the taking of a life.  And last time I checked, that was murder.  A type of murder that was originally and openly stated by Margaret Sanger to reduce the black population.  Her desire is being fulfilled with the murder rate of black babies 8x higher in abortion than that of white babies.  If you are black or love black people, this should enrage you more than a knee on the neck.

Sometimes I wish I had greater influence.  And not just 2-3 who read this.  But maybe, just maybe a Christian will t turn to the Bible and find out for themselves the truth.  And then act on it.  Speak about it.  Be uncompromising in it.  And loving without compromising to those affected by it.
