Waiting for the unknown ahead is hard. Very hard.
That’s what Saturday is about.
Jesus had died. He was their hope. They had put their lives on hold to follow him. And now he was dead??? Where were his promises? Why had he let them down?
It was a terrible place to be. And the only thing his disciples could do was gather, grieve, and wonder if they had been fools to follow Jesus.
Sometimes life is like that. It doesn’t turn out the way we expect. It does not turn out the way we feel like God has said it would.
We grieve. We scream. We cry.
But we have to remember it’s Saturday.
Our Sunday, the Resurrection Day, when it all began to make sense for the disciples, might not come for us the next day or two. It might be weeks, months, or even only make sense the other side of eternity.
It requires trust, faith and believing God’s goodness even when we don’t see or experience what we think we should.
But if we can trust God for our salvation, we can trust God for what we do not understand.
It’s Saturday. But a new day is coming.
