To Know Jesus and Make Him Known

The Wicked Consume My People like Bread – Ps 53

“What the enemy meant for evil, He will turn it to good, turn it to good…”

This was the song we sang in church yesterday.  And it was a good reminder.  Things get really bad, but then he flips evil on its head.  We need to remind ourselves in this season where it seems like the world has lots its minds.

But prior to flipping things, evil can get pretty bad.  Many suffer.

Will evildoers never understand?  They consume My people as they consume bread” (Ps 53:4).

But then God flips the script.  He turns the tables:

Then they will be filled with terror–terror like no other” (Ps 53:5).

God has a long history of turning the tables:

Joseph was sold and rejected, but God turned it for good to save Israel

Jesus was crucified, but God turned it good for the redemption of all mankind

There is a lot of evil that is being unleashed upon the earth.  There will be a suffering like we have never seen.  We read about it in the Scriptures.  A single loaf of broad will cost the equivalent of 3 days wages.  Those will be terrible times.

But we have to also remember that God will always and at the right time turn the tables.  Evil will always be turned on its head.  We must encourage one another in these things.  Evil will never prevail over God.  In fact, while God has to allow for free-will, he can always use what the enemy meant for evil, and turn it for good.
