To Know Jesus and Make Him Known

When Fools Rule – Is 3

God was going to bring judgment on Judah and Jerusalem for their wickedness, and that judgment was going to first be through removing their supply and support systems.  All the leaders spiritually and politically and all their safe supply chains for food would be hindered.  Instead he would fools, children and women in charge.

Wait.  What?

Is this a slam, especially on women?  No, it was really a slam on the men.  It was considered shameful for a man to be dominated and ruled by a woman.  But he had become so weak that it was the only way.

Also it was part of his judgment that fools rule, men or women.  People who were inept at their job.

But why did God do this?  Was he just mean and a bully and a judgmental God?

It was because they had done so much wickedness for so long.  They even flaunted their evil and paraded it through the streets.  They attack the poor and pad their own pockets on the suffering of others.  The women also have become loose and lusty as they shake their hips with their jewels.

It’s interesting, those who claim God is “judgmental” or also the same people who are angry that “He doesn’t do something about so much evil and suffering.”

God is slow, very slow in bringing judgment.  But He does bring judgment when there isn’t repentance.  He has to or He wouldn’t be good.  All evil, whether “big” or “small” causes harm to people and to others.  Always.  So if he didn’t intervene, he wouldn’t be a good Father.
