To Know Jesus and Make Him Known

Don’t Separate…Ever

I see a lot of people in the social media sphere calling for people to rise up.  And asking why it’s not happening already.  Thankfully it hasn’t because one only needs to look to the 1850’s in US history to see utter horror.

But I”ll tell you why.  It’s because we are still a “we.” Yes, we are becoming an “us” and “them” ideologically, but not yet so geographically.   Conflict only takes place when there is physical separation.

It’s why in places where there are clans and tribes there is often easy conflict as there are two groups.  Or why in some nations of religious conflict there is the one sect of the faith (Sue-ny) that wars against the people of the other sect of faith (Sit-Tite), and they are geographically (typically) separated.  And it’s why in the 1940’s there was first a separation that began with a yellow star, which then moved to an actual physical separation.  Soon after that physical separation took place, bad things followed.

People will never fight one another when they are intermingled. It just doesn’t happen.  We are neighbors and co-workers and even friends and family after all.  It’s why being around those different than us is a good thing.  It is the glue of a nation.

But if separated, watch out.

If you see governments of this world trying to create a spatial/physical/geographical separation for a certain group of people, be warned.

Separation means trails of blood are sure to follow.

Stay close to those to whom you differ.

We must work to love each other well..

And if someone attempts to bring separation, be careful.  It’s not meant for “good.”
