Zophar was so arrogant and full of himself that he considered himself most wise.  And Job says sarcastically that when Zophar dies, all wisdom from the earth will die with him.  He goes on.

I also have a mind; I am not inferior to you” (Job 12:3).

The one who is at ease holds calamity in contempt and thinks it is prepared for those whose feet are slipping” (Job 12:5).

It’s easy for those who are not suffering to think that everyone else’s suffering is because of evil.

But know this:

Wisdom and strength belong to God; counsel and understanding are His” (Job 12:13).

God in his wisdom and strength does as he pleases.

His friends, and Zophar, are saying that if someone suffers it is because of evil.  If they are blessed it is because they are good.  It is black and white.

Job is saying God is bigger than this.
