To Know Jesus and Make Him Known

Tana mu fenye, Guinea Conakry!

What a surprise! A visitor from Guinea Conakry! I spent a summer there in a village, not in Conakry. But what a wonderful experience.

I would never have guessed a visitor from there, expat or otherwise, but I’m so happy you swung by and I hope you see this.

It’s been so very long since I’ve been there I’m sure a lot has changed.

I remember the stew that looked like this made up of tomatoes and peanuts. I was surprised at how good it tasted and never would have considered such a combination.

I was in the village most of the time and most certainly did not see the fancy tourist spots.

This part of the world has so many rich resources and some fascinating culture and people.

Guinea, you and the nations around you have a much bigger place in the world than you know. There’s much more for you. I pray that one day Jesus will be established firmly among you, and that Guinea would become more and more all that God intended for it.

Even as I write this I think of some of the most beautiful people I met–Mariamma and her husband. She has such joy. The neighbors who kept life interesting. The village elder I forgot to pick up (still sorry about that one). The cholera epidemic. The woman on her deathbed…

So many memories. May the Lord pour out His love on you and may you experience great revival in the land. May you come into a new day for you and your people. May He live abundantly among you so that you may be a blessings to the nations.
