To Know Jesus and Make Him Known

This I Know, God is For Me – Ps 56

I’m not sure I have always been able to say that:

This I know, God is for me” (Ps 56:9).

Sometimes honestly I have not felt that way.  I’m sure you’ve been there too.  After decades and decades of prayer and still nothing.  No changes to suffering.  I’ve made some progress, but then there are times I wonder, “Why God, why?  I can’t take this anymore…I can’t do this anymore…”

This is psalm wasn’t written in a time where things were wonderful.  The annotations says this, “When the Philistines seized him in Gath.”

But yet David still trusted the Lord.  He still fully believed that God was for him.  And that was what made him so great.  He was resolute in his trust of God.

When I am afraid, I will trust in you.  In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not fear.  What can man do to me?” (Ps 56:3-4)

In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not fear.  What can man do to me?” (Ps 56:10-11).
