Those Proverbs that… Prov 22

You can read something your whole life in the Scripture, and then one day you see it for the first time.   It’s that life experience has opened up in a dramatic way the truth.  For me when I come to Proverbs 22, there’s a verse in there that is like a profound slap in the face.  I still have a bitterness in my mouth that needs cleansing (Jesus, help me!), but there’s that verse.

Drive out a mocker, and conflict goes too; then quarreling and dishonor will cease” (Prov 22:10).

Life experience taught me how utterly true this is.  I never knew how truly deep a mocker could problems in one’s life.  And how good things could be when they left.

Mockery is a sin we never talk about it.  But oh is it deadly.

Lord, heal me.
